During the Cowboy Week, you will experience an authentic working ranch atmosphere, stepping into the rhythm and daily life of working with horses.
The horse becomes a true working partner, with whom you learn to face and overcome situations that may seem challenging at first, but prove to be deeply educational and rewarding.
This is a practical, intensive, and engaging course, designed for those who wish to challenge themselves and discover what it truly means to work with horses in a real-life ranch environment.
At Cornacchino, we have been breeding and training horses for over 20 years.
Our pastures extend across more than 100 hectares of meadows, woods, streams, and hillsides, and are home to over fifty horses living in small groups.
The youngest horses are just one year old, while the oldest are 34 years old. This wide range of ages and dynamics makes the ranch an ideal place to experience both everyday ranch work and the more specific activities of a real working ranch.
The entire week is dedicated to hands-on work with horses, approached in a progressive and guided way.
During the course, you will learn how to:
• Saddle and prepare a horse correctly
• Ride and work in a ranch style (one-handed riding)
• Open and close gates on horseback
• Move individual horses and groups of horses
• Lead a horse by hand, even on challenging terrain
The final highlight of the week is the transhumance:
we will move a group of horses to a new pasture, with a lunch break and outdoor picnic, sharing a complete and meaningful ranch experience.
The main goal of the course is to deepen body communication between horse and rider, developing sensitivity, feeling, and adaptability.
By the end of the week, participants will take home:
• Greater body awareness
• Practical tools to work independently
• Real-life experience to continue growing with their own horse
At the end of the course, participants will receive a certificate of participation.
The course is designed for riders who:
• Have already acquired the basics of Western riding
• Are able to manage walk, trot, and canter in an arena
No previous ranch work experience is required: the week is guided and structured to support each participant step by step.
You will be personally guided by Fabio Tascone, one of the founders of Cornacchino.
Fabio has been breeding, training, and working with horses for over 30 years. He is well known for his work with young horses as well as for helping horses with behavioral challenges.
He specializes in outdoor Western riding, with a practical and respectful approach based on understanding the horse and working in real-life environments.
The program may be modified at any time due to weather conditions or technical and organizational requirements, always with attention to safety and the well-being of both horses and participants.
During your stay, you will be warmly looked after by our cooks, who prepare healthy, wholesome meals made with care and attention, designed to support the body and accompany the activities of the day.
Our kitchen takes into account the main dietary needs and choices, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
If you wish to enjoy an even deeper experience of grounding and connection with nature, in addition to staying in our comfortable rooms, you will also have the opportunity to sleep in one of our tepees: romantic, spacious, and cozy, surrounded by the silence of the forest and gently accompanied by the call of owls.
An invitation to slow down and reconnect with the natural rhythm of the days, among horses, good food, and moments of genuine relaxation, peace, and well-being.
*Not included: Transfer and personal insurance
In the afternoon, you may take part in our riding-outs (not included).
