Breathing a sigh of relief in the green of October

It is all the more hopeful now to see our pastures in lush green again. There has been a lot of rain, especially at night. Indian summer is ushering in. The autumn light and its warmth gives the last sweetness to the fruit. Our gardens have borne richly. We serve their vegetables in our kitchen. But green is not only visually present in Cornacchino now, but also in the form of new projects and cooperations.

Together with two neighbouring cheese dairies and their estates, we have worked out and signed the first forest agreement in Italy. This is certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).

This forest agreement provides for a management plan to improve the natural capital and ecosystem services of the companies and the surrounding territory. It is a first step towards the implementation of a more comprehensive agreement that includes the whole of Monte Penna and the Castell'Azzara area.

In small and large ways, it is about establishing a deeper awareness of the infinite value of our forests - our nature that nourishes and sustains us!
