What if a horse could show what words cannot?
In the Mirror of Horses is a unique women's retreat in Tuscany that brings together horses, yoga, nature, and personal growth. Through encounters with the horses, participants are invited into a space where they can reconnect with themselves and strengthen their intuition. What is calling for attention, clarity, and transformation?
Nestled within the breathtaking landscape of Cornacchino, where horses live freely in their herds across expansive pastures, this retreat offers space to slow down, gain new perspectives, and experience genuine connection — with the horses, nature & yourself.
In the natural surroundings of Cornacchino, participants experience horses not through performance, technique, or theory, but through presence, connection, and self-discovery.
Each day begins with a yoga practice led by Elisabetta, followed by guided encounters with the horses in the afternoon. Horses often reflect aspects of ourselves that remain unnoticed in everyday life, inviting us to meet ourselves with greater clarity, trust, and authenticity.
Cornacchino is set within a remarkable natural landscape of rolling hills, ancient beech forests, and unspoiled wilderness. There is ample space to breathe deeply and unwind — whether during a walk through the estate and surrounding woods, while reading in the garden, or simply enjoying the peace and spaciousness of this special place. The close connection to nature is equally reflected in the cuisine.
Meet the horses in their natural environment, observe the herd, experience the power of heart coherence, and reconnect with your own heart. What brought you here? What in this moment of your life is asking to be seen?
Through guided one-on-one encounters with the horses, you will explore the interplay between different qualities: intuition and presence, focus and clarity, action and purpose. What becomes possible when these energies come into balance?
How deeply do you trust the flow of life? Through guided experiences with the horses, you will sharpen your awareness, deepen your capacity for trust, and discover what becomes possible when you let go of control and arrive fully in the present moment.
Discover your personal boundaries through direct interaction with the horses. Where do you hold yourself back? When do you adapt rather than remain true to yourself? What allows genuine connection—with yourself and with others?
A day dedicated to integration, deepening, and consciously following what wishes to emerge. Guided by the needs of the group and the wisdom of the horses, we build upon previous insights while opening space for new experiences.
What treasures have revealed themselves during this week? Reflect on your experiences, honor your journey, and explore how you can integrate the insights, strengths, and discoveries you have gained into your everyday life.
Roberta and Isabelle first met in Cornacchino. A place where nature, horses, and a slower pace of life create space for meaningful encounters.
They are united by a shared passion for personal growth, mindfulness, and the wisdom of horses. Together, they bring experience from psychology, coaching, nature-based work, and equine-assisted facilitation, complemented by many years of designing and leading seminars and workshops for the Bavarian State Painting Collections in Munich.
From their meeting emerged the vision for In the Mirror of Horses — a retreat created by women, for women, combining professional guidance with the profound experience of horses, nature, and self-discovery.
Elisabetta has been guiding individuals and groups for over 25 years on paths of awareness, inner growth, and self-knowledge.
A Yoga teacher for adults and children and an experienced educator, her work is rooted in direct observation of experience and in the meeting of Eastern and Western spiritual and philosophical traditions.
At the heart of her approach lies self-awareness, understood as a key to recognizing one’s true nature and living in greater harmony.
Her method is holistic and practical, inspired by the universal teachings of Taoism, Buddhism, and Advaita Vedanta, and offers concrete and accessible tools for the integral well-being of body, mind, and consciousness.
For Elisabetta, Yoga is much more than a physical practice: it is a path of listening, presence, and self-discovery, capable of accompanying each person — with simplicity and respect — toward a more authentic and profound balance.
Daily practice brings tangible benefits that are also reflected in the relationship with the horse:
• Greater awareness of your body and its limits
• A calmer and more centered mind
• Improved mobility and coordination
• Increased awareness of breathing
• The ability to be fully present
In the afternoon, you will be able to observe how these benefits influence the way you move, listen, and relate — both with the horse and within yourself.
Each day begins with a gentle and mindful yoga practice, immersed in the quiet of nature.
Through fluid movements, guided breathing, and moments of deep listening, the body gradually awakens and the mind opens to a calm, stable, and attentive presence.
The morning practice gently prepares you for meeting the horse, supporting:
• Greater physical and postural awareness
• Mental clarity and emotional balance
• A deep sense of calm and inner grounding
You will learn to perceive your body more clearly, recognize tension and stiffness, and gradually release them, creating an authentic connection with yourself and with the animal.
The course is suitable for all levels of experience, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners.
The practices are simple, accessible, and adaptable, and help to:
• Develop a stable and harmonious posture
• Improve coordination and mobility
• Refine the connection between breath, movement, and presence
Special attention is given to the relationship between pelvis, spine, and limbs—key elements for fluid and natural movement, which are also essential when working with horses.
No horse experience is needed. Only openness.
During your stay, you will be warmly looked after by our cooks, who prepare healthy, wholesome meals made with care and attention, designed to support the body and accompany the activities of the day.
Our kitchen takes into account the main dietary needs and choices, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
If you wish to enjoy an even deeper experience of grounding and connection with nature, in addition to staying in our comfortable rooms, you will also have the opportunity to sleep in one of our tepees: romantic, spacious, and cozy, surrounded by the silence of the forest and gently accompanied by the call of owls.
An invitation to slow down and reconnect with the natural rhythm of the days, among horses, good food, and moments of genuine relaxation, peace, and well-being.
